Should give it a better, and more consistent, resistance. Then they mocked up a way to add an extension spring to the newly-extended external rod-section for increased return-rate. I've seen people replacing the stock M8 Pushrod with a longer one, so it sticks out of the back at all times, instead of just when pulled. Still gotta do a whole teardown anyway to better scope out what can be done, but it's definitely operating much quieter, and with slightly increased smoothness! Its a little short though, so it just slightly increases the overall resistance, which is a welcome addition but I'll probably try and use some nuts and more washers to hold it preloaded inside the outer coil.Īlso lubed the two springs with dialectric grease because they were in contact with eachother, bought some delrin washers as upgrades for the spring washer-blockers, got some thinner steel washers to tighten up the tolerances of lateral-movement, and lubed any metal-to-metal contact with Krytox 205g0 lubricant and now its quiet as butter (but for how long is yet to be seen.). In my mind it would create a sort-of progressive, simulated load-cell" with 2-step resistance action. I also bought a narrower, thick, gauge shorter coil spring to place inside the stock one. I LITERALLY JUST FINALLY BOUGHT ONE, IT SHOWED YESTERDAY AND WAS A SCREETCHING, LOOSE MESS, SO I WENT TO AUBUCHON ON A WHIM TO GET PARTS. Go on eBay or to a local hardware store and replace the factory spring with something stronger. To prevent the rubber O-ring from climbing the spring screw, place an M8 washer between the O-ring and screw head. See where the handbrake travel gets picked up by the hall sensor. Connect the USB to your PC, go to the control panel, printers and devices and click on the joystick(handbrake). Tighten the spring screw on the back of the handbrake so that way you minimize unregistered travel. Make sure you use brass, steel will wear the aluminum. I was lucky enough to find ones that fit perfect, but if you can't find that then use multiple thin washers. Replace spring washers with thick solid brass washers. Your handbrake will instantly feel amazing. Grease the main axis, grease the block, the guide rods, everything. Grease up everything that moves and is in contact with other parts. My initial idea was to 3D print some washers but I decided to wait with that. Upon disassembly i found out the tolerances of the machined parts are really bad. It was loud as shit, not smooth at all and wobbly as hell. When I received this handbrake I was VERY disappointed.
